2020 Contest Announcement

Here it is! The 2020 season is underway and our field is just about finalized! So here is the info for the 2020 contest. For the first time since 2013 Bass has been selected as the primary species. Bass includes largemouth and smallmouth bass. White bass are not included. Crappie has been selected for the secondary species.

As in previous years the winners will be the longest measured fish. The mouth can be closed and tail pinched. Click here for the full rules.

If you have friends that are still interested in participating this year we can still accommodate them. Please keep in mind the spirit of the contest. We want prospective participants to commit to the contest before knowing the species. We would like to have continual participation and not people cherry picking a particular species.

Also, please check out the Big Fish of the Year Facebook group. I'm not sure I know how to link to the exact group but if you go to Facebook.com/groups and search for "Big Fish of the Year" you should be able to find it. I'm pretty bad about posting on social media but I'm going to try to use that group more this year and I want to encourage you all to join as well.

That's it for now, good luck this season!
